Kyle Werner’s Piano Quintet receives its world premiere at the Betty Oliphant Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. This work is the result of a first-ever collaboration between Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS), who commissioned the work, and the Royal Conservatory’s Taylor Academy. The work features new choreography by Silas Farley, and will be performed by advanced pre-professional students from the two partner schools. The costumes were designed by Cassia Farley. This NBS Spring Showcase performances also features works by George Balanchine and Canadian choreographers John Alleyne and Peggy Baker, set to music of Gottschalk, Schubert, and Brahms, respectively.
